ABC

ABC are an English pop band formed in Sheffield, South Yorkshire in 1980, emerging from the earlier electronic band Vice Versa. The band incorporates elements of synth-pop, orchestral, and jazz music, and has been associated with the new pop and sophisti-pop movements. Their debut studio album, "The Lexicon of Love" (1982), reached number one on the UK Albums Chart and included the singles "Poison Arrow", "All of My Heart", and "The Look of Love". The band released additional albums during the 1980s, including "Beauty Stab" (1983) and "How to Be a ... Zillionaire!" (1985), the latter of which produced singles that charted in both the UK and the US. Although their commercial popularity decreased after the 1980s, ABC have continued to perform live, release reissues, and occasionally produce new material. In 2016, Martin Fry released "The Lexicon of Love II", a sequel to their debut album, which received positive responses from critics and audiences.
