In Australia, they achieved four top ten singles: "Love and Other Bruises" (1976), "All Out of Love", "Every Woman in the World", and "The One That You Love". Their highest-charting studio album, "The One That You Love" (1981), reached number ten in both Australia and the United States. The band relocated to Los Angeles in the late 1970s, with Hitchcock and Russell remaining the core members throughout various lineup changes. Air Supply were inducted into the Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA) Hall of Fame on 1 December 2013. Air Supply formed after Russell and Hitchcock met while performing in the Australian production of the musical "Jesus Christ Superstar" in 1975. Early members included Chrissie Hammond, who later left to form the band Cheetah, and Jeremy Paul on bass and backing vocals. The group's first single, "Love and Other Bruises", was released in 1976 and peaked at number six on the Australian Kent Music Report singles chart. Their debut album, "Air Supply" (1976), reached number 17 on the Australian albums chart and achieved gold certification. The follow-up album, "The Whole Thing's Started" (1977), did not achieve significant chart success. During this period, the group toured nationally in Australia and internationally, including supporting Rod Stewart in 1977. In 1979, Air Supply released the concept album "Life Support", which included "Lost in Love". The song gained international attention after being remixed and released by Arista Records in 1980. Their US breakthrough album, "Lost in Love" (1980), produced three US top-five singles: "Lost in Love", "Every Woman in the World", and "All Out of Love", while also achieving commercial success in Australia, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom. The 1981 album "The One That You Love" included the US number-one single of the same name, as well as "Here I Am (Just When I Thought I Was Over You)" and "Sweet Dreams". The 1982 album "Now and Forever" featured the top-five US single "Even the Nights Are Better". Their first compilation album, "Greatest Hits" (1983), included the single "Making Love Out of Nothing at All", which reached number two on the US Billboard Hot 100. During the 1980s, the band released several more albums, including "Air Supply" (1985) and "Hearts in Motion" (1986), featuring singles that charted in the US and internationally. In the 1990s, Air Supply released "The Earth Is ..." (1991), "The Vanishing Race" (1993), and "News from Nowhere" (1995), with notable singles including "Without You", "Goodbye", and "It's Never Too Late". They also released the live album "Greatest Hits Live ... Now and Forever" (1996), which achieved commercial success in Southeast Asia. Hitchcock collaborated with Judith Durham and Mandawuy Yunupingu on a cover of "I Am Australian" in 1997. In the 2000s, Air Supply released additional studio albums including "The Book of Love" (1997), "Yours Truly" (2001), and "Across the Concrete Sky" (2003), as well as the acoustic album "The Singer and the Song" (2006). They performed internationally, including in Havana, Cuba, and their songs were featured in films such as "Bad Company" (2002), "Mr. & Mrs. Smith" (2005), and "The Wedding Date" (2005). In 2010, they released the studio album "Mumbo Jumbo". In the 2010s, Air Supply were honoured by Gray Line's Ride of Fame in 2012 and released the concert film "Air Supply - Live in Hong Kong" (2014). They continued to release singles including "I Want You" and "I Adore You" in 2015. A jukebox musical based on their songs, "All Out of Love: The Musical", premiered in the Philippines in 2018, featuring a new song, "I Was in Love with You".
