Simply Red are an English pop and soul band formed in Manchester in 1985. The group is led by singer and songwriter Mick Hucknall, who remains the only original member. They have released thirteen studio albums, beginning with "Picture Book" in 1985 and continuing through "Time" in 2023. All of these albums reached the top ten on the UK Albums Chart. At the Brit Awards in 1992 and 1993, Simply Red received the award for Best British Group. They earned three Grammy Award nominations, including a nomination for Best New Artist in 1987. Their rendition of "If You Don't Know Me by Now" earned songwriters Kenny Gamble and Leon Huff the Grammy Award for Best R&B Song. The band disbanded in 2010 and reunited in 2015.
