Lightning bolt
Jake Bugg
Morning, it’s another pure grey morning\r\nDon’t know what the day is holding\r\nWhen I get uptight\r\nAnd I walk right into the path of a lightning bolt\r\n\r\nSirens of an ambulance comes howling\r\nRight through the centre of town and\r\nNo one blinks an eye\r\nAnd I look up to the sky in the path of a lighting bolt\r\n\r\nMet her as the angels parted for her\r\nBut she only brought me touture\r\nBut that’s what happens\r\nWhen it’s you who’s standing in the path of a ligthning bolt\r\n\r\nEveryone I see just wants to walk with gritted teeth\r\nBut I just stand by and I wait my time\r\nThey say you gotta tow the line they want the water not the wine\r\nBut when I see the signs I jump on that lightning bolt\r\n\r\nChances, people tell you not to take chances\r\nWhen they tell you there aren’t any answers\r\nAnd I was starting to agree\r\nBut I awoke suddenly in the path of a lightning bolt\r\n\r\nFortune, people talking all about fortune\r\nDo you make it or does it just call you.\r\nIn the blinking of an eye\r\nJust another passerby in the path of a lightning bolt\r\n\r\nEveryone I see just wants to walk with gritted teeth\r\nBut I just stand by and I wait my time\r\nThey say you gotta tow the line they want the water not the wine\r\nBut when I see the signs I jump on that lightning bolt\r\n\r\nIt was silent, I was lying back gazing skyward\r\nWhen the moment got shattered\r\nI remembered what she said\r\nAnd then she fled in the path of a lightning bolt
